Hasqvarna makes its 25,000th bike

Only a few days after the inauguration celebration of a huge new Headquarters and R&D facility, Husqvarna Motorcycles reached a major milestone in their production of motorcycles. On Friday, October 2, 2009, the 25,000 motorcycle was produced at the Biandronno factory located in northern Italy. This event was made more memorable by the fact that it was two years to the day that BMW had acquired Husqvarna and gave the historic brand a new start. This event marks 25,000 motorcycles produced by Husqvarna since being acquired by BMW in 2007.

Plant Manager Giuseppe Manacorda commented that a great achievement had been accomplished by their factory as they produced the 25,000th motorcycle since Husqvarna had become a BMW brand and that this achievement was the result of a team effort who had put much hard work into the project. Manacorda also mentioned that in the past two years the production lines had been completely revised, and a new quality and logistics operation is in the reconstruction phase. Manacorda also is in agreement with Thoma, the President of Husqvarna Motorcycles, about how the global economic condition has deeply affected the industry, but he maintains that Husqvarna is racing ahead.
