Nevada Cell Phone Ban Appears to Lack Car Insurance Implications
June 23rd, 2011
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval last week signed into law a bill that will make texting or talking on a handheld cell phone while driving a fineable offense, but one that appears to have only marginal car insurance implications.
The new law establishes a $50 fine for a first offense, a $100 fine for a second and a $250 fine for a third offense. Third offenses will also result in a six-month drivers license suspension.
Whether these penalties will have an effect on insurance prices for drivers who get caught talk talking or texting remains unclear.
When insurers look at a persons driving history in order to gauge the risk he or she poses, they generally look at moving violations.

Womens Car Insurance & Car Maintenance
September 15th, 2010
Did you know that just over a third of women admit to having no knowledge of car maintenance at all? That includes the more complex procedures, such as changing a tyre, but also simple things like checking the oil and the level of water for the window wipers. If you are one of those women then now is the time to remedy this problem and ensure that your car remains in the best possible condition in the coming winter months.
Womens car insurance often provides breakdown cover as part of the policy and all women should have that facility available to them anyway. However, this should not stop you from being able to keep your car in a decent condition.

Your Mexican Car Insurance Policy – The Whys and Hows
June 30th, 2010
If you are a U.S. resident driving in Canada or vice versa and get into an accident, you can be sure (provided your premiums are paid) that you will be indemnified up to the limits of your car insurance policy.
However, if you are driving in Mexico and this happens, your own insurance policy is not going to help you. The fact is that if you plan on driving south of the border, you will need to buy auto insurance especially for the time you are in that country before you cross the border.
