Cheap Car Insurance & Tacling Uninsured Drivers

There is finally some good news on the horizon for those people who love their cheap car insurance and yet either stand to lose it or have suffered with it at the hands of uninsured drivers in the past. The government is finally taking a much tougher stance on it that will hopefully discourage those people that are tempted to put others at risk when they start the engine on their uninsured car. Not only has this already been announced but the measures are set to come into force in spring thanks to the action by the Department of Transport.
Although 400 uninsured drivers are caught by police everyday, many ultimately get away with it because they never get pulled over.

Cheap Car Insurance & City Locations

Do you live in a city? If you do then you may feel a little aggrieved when you receive your previously cheap car insurance renewal through the post. Not only are city drivers having to pay more for their car insurance along with everyone else as a result of increased levels of fraud but they are also going to have to pay for proof that a city is not a good place to have a car.
We all know that cheap car insurance premiums are affected by the level of crime in a given area, and crime is always higher in cities. However, now studies like those examining crash for cash statistics and poor driving habits are also going to have a greater effect on insurance premiums.

Linking Home Insurance & Cheap Car Insurance

I don’t know about you but I have noticed that there are an awful lot of insurance companies offering discounts for those people with cheap car insurance to take up home insurance with the same provider, or vice versa. Whereas cross promotion never used to be a factor of their marketing campaigns because products were kept separate, it is viewed as a way to secure customer loyalty today. Many people have taken advantage of those discounts, but should you?
The answer is no, or at least not before comparing the other quotes that are out there for you. The discounts may be enticing but that is not to say that you cannot find better premiums out there. You probably can, in addition to a policy that suits you.

Cheap Car Insurance +£50

Does the title of this blog post sound appealing to you? It would do if it meant that you were to get £50 from your cheap car insurance company but unfortunately that is not what it is referring to. Instead, that is exactly how much you are going to be expected to pay extra as a result of the dishonest drivers out there. We all knew that the increasing number of fraudulent claims would eventually put premiums up but when you realise just how much the increase will be it suddenly makes it real.
As an honest driver there is very little you can actually do to prevent the extra £50 being added to your premiums but you can make sure that you keep your own premiums down by being responsible on the road and building up a little no claims bonus.
